Description

This is a house dating from the early 16th century, significantly altered in the mid-18th century and restored in 1968. It is timber framed, with a red brick facing on the ground floor and an exposed post and panel frame above, set behind rendered infill. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The house has two storeys. A brick plinth rises to a brick corbel course below a tile band. A large, triple-ridge brick stack is positioned to the right of the centre. The facade is divided into four framed bays, with a gabled bay at the left end and curved first-floor bracing at that end. There are four casement windows on the first floor, and four below. A 20th-century panelled door, flanked by a window, is set within a pentice roof porch on the left side of the centre. The left return front features a tile-hung gable. Inside, the timber framing is exposed, particularly on the ceilings, alongside deep brick fireplaces.
