Description

Lower Farm House is a house with a 17th-century core, having a front that was restored in the 18th century and again in 1907. It is constructed of red brick with plain tiled roofs, and raised, tile-coped gable ends. The house has an L-shaped plan, with a long, lower wing at the rear. It is two storeys high, with an attic containing two hipped roof dormers facing the front, and two storeys to the rear. There is an end stack to the front left, and two end stacks to the right. The front facade is regular in design, with brick dentilled eaves and a three-bay arrangement. It now has 20th-century casement windows, with two on each floor, set under cambered heads; a blocked window is present in the centre of the first floor. A central glazed door is sheltered by a thick, flat hood supported on braces. The left-hand return front has first-floor tiling and four 20th-century casement windows on the first floor, along with a further door to the right.
