Description
This is a house, originally dating from the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century. It has been renovated in the 1970s, and is now divided, partly used for offices. The building is timber-framed, with a rendered front and a plain tiled roof that is half-hipped to the left. A brick stack is located at the right end and a ridge stack to the left of the centre. The house is two storeys high, with attic space to the right under 20th-century lead flat-roofed dormers. The windows are a mix of styles; five windows are present on the first floor, with casement windows featuring "Gothick" style glazing bars under cambered heads to the left, and two angle bay windows with glazing bar sashes to the centre and right. A bow window is on the ground floor to the left, and a small casement window sits to the left of centre beneath a flat hood. The door to 79a is to the right, with six panels under a flat wooden hood in an architrave surround. The door to 79 is located in the left-hand return front, under a pentice roofed trellis porch. A weatherboard catslide extension is at the rear left, and a brick wing extends to the right. The ground floor room to the right of centre contains 17th-century plasterwork, including a knight in armour and floral motifs.
