Description

The drinking fountain and surrounding railings opposite number 72 on High Street in Esher were built in 1877. The fountain features a stone pylon that stands about 12 feet high, topped with a gable and corner acroteria. On the north side, there is a marble bowl with a bronze lion's head spout above it, and a step with a plinth that reads: "Presented to the Parish of Esher by Queen Victoria 1877." Iron railings, approximately 5 feet high, extend to the east and west, encircling the fountain on the south side. The railings on the north side rest on a rubblestone plinth and stretch about 20 feet across the front of the fountain.
