Description

The Statue of Britannia, located opposite number 77 on High Street in Esher, was erected in 1897. It features a red marble plinth with a square pedestal supporting a copper figure that stands approximately 20 feet high. The figure of Britannia holds a spear in her right hand. The east side of the plinth is inscribed to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, which celebrated her reign from 1837 to 1897.
