Description

The gatehouse to No 77 was built around 1834 for James Taylor. It is constructed of brick painted white and features a stone dome. The structure is circular in shape and has three pointed-arched openings. The left opening serves as the entrance from the road, accessed by a step and fitted with cast-iron gates that have arrow finials. The right opening is adorned with similar cast-iron railings on a stone base. The rear opening leads to the garden and is open. A cornice runs below the dome, which is topped with a ball-on-cushion finial. This gatehouse is included in the listing for its group value.
