Description

The Clarke Tomb, located 8 yards south of the southeast corner of Christ Church in Esher, is a monument dedicated to Edith Amy Clarke, who died in 1897. It is made of stone and features a square panelled plinth with panelled corner piers that project forward. The tomb is supported by four Doric piers on pedestals, which hold up a triglyph frieze and a pedimented canopy. Atop the tomb is a seated life-size figure of a woman in Classical dress, sitting on an X stool and holding a lyre.
