Description
A house row, likely dating from the 17th century, with early 19th-century remodelling of the eastern part and further alterations in the 20th century. The western part of the building has a timber-framed core, now clad in rendered brick, with a plain tile roof. The eastern part is of colourwashed brick over a rendered plinth, with a hipped slate roof. The western section is one and a half storeys high, set beneath a steep-pitched roof with end and ridge stacks. The south elevation, overlooking Stags Court, has three half-dormers with glazing-bar sashes in the upper storey. Below are the entrance door to No. 3, a single glazing-bar sash window, and a bow window. The eastern section is two storeys high, with a shallow hipped roof and two stacks. The south elevation has a shop front with two modern bow windows framing a central door. Facing High Street to the east, the first floor has four glazing-bar sash windows with projecting cills and gauged heads, while the ground floor has two similar windows and, to the right, a part-glazed door with diagonal glazing-bars in the transom light. A hip-roofed extension is set back to the far right. The interior has not been inspected.
