Description

Flexney's House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It features a datestone from 1675 on the left wing and includes an early to mid 17th century cross wing that was remodeled in the mid 19th century, along with an early 18th century range to the left. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and has a gabled stone slate roof. The left range has a stone ashlar stack at the left end, while the cross wing has a low-pitched, stone-coped gabled roof with a ridge stack finished in 17th century brick and a stone lateral stack.

The layout consists of a two-unit plan with the cross wing on the right. The left range is two storeys high with an attic and features a one-window range. It has a timber lintel over a three-light leaded casement window above a 20th century door with a flat hood. There is also a gabled roof dormer with a 20th century two-light casement. The two-storey gable end of the cross wing has hood moulds over mid 19th century three-light and five-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows. The right side wall includes a 20th century door, while the rear bay has label moulds over an early 17th century chamfered one-light window and a stone-mullioned four-light window, with mid 19th century brick on the left side wall.

Inside, there are stop-chamfered beams in the rear bay and in the left wing, although only partial inspection of the interior has been conducted.
