Description
Thatchings is a house dating from 1671, built with colourwashed Flemish bond brick on a limestone rubble plinth, and limestone rubble gable end walls. It has a gabled concrete tile roof with a stone stack finished in brick at the left end. The house features a two-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a two-window range. There are segmental brick header arches above 20th-century two- and three-light casements, along with 20th-century gabled dormers. A late 17th-century rear left wing is constructed of light timber framing and has a half-hipped concrete-tile roof. A 20th-century door is located at the rear. The interior, which has not been inspected, is noted to include a stop-chamfered beam and an open fireplace with a bressumer in the front range.
