Description
Numbers 14 and 15, along with the attached outbuilding, are a late medieval house that was remodeled in the late 17th century. The structure is cruck-framed and has a roughcast exterior over a timber frame set on a limestone rubble plinth, with gable ends made of coursed limestone rubble. The roof is gabled and thatched, featuring brick stacks at the ends. The house has been remodeled into a three-unit plan and consists of one storey and an attic, with a three-window range. The front includes a 20th-century door and casement windows, along with swept dormers.
Inside, the central bay is flanked by two full crucks from the former 14th or 15th-century open hall, each featuring a collar and saddled apex with smoke-blackened beams. The truss on the left was originally part of the medieval building, which extended further to the right. There is an open fireplace and stop-chamfered beams from the late 17th-century inserted stack and floor. Additionally, a 18th-century outbuilding projects forward from the left bay; it is constructed of weatherboarding over a timber frame on a limestone rubble plinth and has a hipped thatch roof with a butt-purlin roof structure inside.
