Description
Green Dragon House is a house dating from the 18th century, with 19th-century extensions at the rear. It is built of coursed rubble limestone, featuring raised ashlar quoins and window surrounds. The stone slate roof has coped gables with moulded kneelers and ashlar chimneys that have chamfered strings and moulded cornices. The house has two storeys and an attic, with five bays. The windows are 3-pane sashes set in beaded ashlar surrounds with keyblocks, and there are segmental relieving arches over the lower windows. The roof has three gabled dormers, each with 2-light wooden casements. The central door is located in a gabled porch. The chimneys are positioned along the ridge at the gable ends and to the right of centre. At the rear, there is a hipped stair projection, later lean-to extensions, and a 19th-century wing. It is said that the building was a coaching inn in the early 19th century and later served as the vicarage later in the century.
