Description

This is a house dating from the late medieval period, likely the 16th or early 17th century, but altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built with a timber-frame structure clad in render, and has a steep-pitched roof made of Cotswold stone, with the wall-plate exposed. Originally, the house had a single-cell plan. It now has two storeys and an attic, featuring two gabled dormers. The front has two windows on the first floor: a late 19th or 20th-century sash window to the left and a projecting rectangular bay with a multi-paned casement window to the right. A projecting, late 19th-century shop front features a central doorway. A plain door is located to the right. A two-storey extension, dating from the 18th or early 19th century, sits at the rear. The property was documented in a deed from 1250, described as a half-burgage.
