Description
The Highway Hotel is a house and hostelry that dates back to the 15th or 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. The second floor is said to have been modified by a Mr. Horniman in 1922. The building features a timber-frame structure rendered on the exterior, topped with a Cotswold stone roof. It stands three storeys tall, with the upper two floors jettied.
On the second floor, there are four paired glazing-bar sash windows. The first floor has two glazing-bar sash windows, two outer angled bays with glazing-bar sashes, and an oval window on the right side. The ground floor includes wine underbuilt rectangular bays with glazing-bar sash windows. The left door features a 16th-century moulded timber surround with urn stops and two fire insurance plates (Farmers and County), while the right side has a tall stone moulded Tudor archway with traceried spandrels.
