Description
The cart-shed at Gill Mill is a structure dating from around the mid 19th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and a stone tile roof with gabled ends. The building has a rectangular plan with an open front consisting of four bays supported by timber posts on stone bases. There is a small loft door located in the southwest gable end. Inside, the cart-shed has a four-bay collar and tiebeam roof, which includes curved braces connecting the posts to the chamfered tie-beams, along with two tiers of tenoned purlins. The common rafters are concealed by plastic sheets, and there is a wooden manger attached to the rear wall.
