Description
This building, known as the premises occupied by D. Lay, is a house that now functions as both a residence and a shop. It features an early 19th-century facade that may have been added to a front range from the late 18th century. The rear of the building has an earlier range. The exterior is rendered, with stone gables, one of which is made of brick. The roof is slate and has three storeys with a three-window range. To the right, there are half-glazed double doors beneath a fanlight with radial glazing bars. The shop front, dating from the late 19th century, has a central door flanked by projecting shop windows. The upper floors have 16-pane sash windows. The roof is low-pitched and features two gable-end stacks. The interior and the earlier range at the rear have not been inspected.
