Description
The building occupied by News and Things is a house that has been converted into a shop. It features a facade from the mid-19th century, likely incorporating parts of an earlier structure. The exterior is made of coursed squared rubble with timber lintels and a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a three-window range. To the right of the center, there is a glazed door with a simple fluted doorcase that includes corner roundels and a small hood supported by consoles, flanked by shop windows. The first and second-floor windows are large-paned sashes with horns. An iron tie is present. The texture of the stonework suggests that an earlier two-storey, two-window range was extended to the right and raised, likely around 1900. The roof is low pitched and features two gable-end chimneys. The interior has not been inspected.
