Description
Greystones is a house dating from the late 17th century, with an 18th century extension to the left. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof, with a brick stack at the left end and moulded stone ridge and end stacks on the right. The building has a four-unit plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has a three-window range. The left bay includes a 20th century hood over a 20th century door, with a timber lintel and a ground-floor flat stone arch above three-light casements. The symmetrical two-window range on the right features a 20th century hood over a 20th century door, late 17th century chamfered stone-mullioned and transomed cross windows, and a cross carved in relief set in a segmental-arched panel. There is an 18th century outshut at the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. Additionally, there is a subsidiary feature: an 18th century forecourt wall, approximately 8 by 14 meters, made of stone-coped limestone rubble, with tall side walls that ramp down to a low front wall.
