Description
Ivydene and Greenside are two houses dating from the early 18th century, with the house on the left being remodeled around 1830. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble and feature a gabled stone slate roof, along with 19th-century brick ridge and end stacks. The buildings have two-unit plans, are two storeys high with an attic, and present a two-window range. Ivydene, on the left, has timber lintels above a central 20th-century door with a gabled hood and above 19th-century eight-pane sash windows. The right side, Greenside, also has a two-window range, with timber lintels over a 19th-century plank door set in a heavy pegged frame, and 19th-century three-light casements along with ground-floor cross casements. Both houses feature gabled roof dormers. Inside Ivydene, there are winder stairs next to the stack and a collar-truss roof with butt purlins. Greenside has not been inspected but is likely to have interesting features as well.
