Description

Delly End Peace Memorial, erected around 1921, is a prominent feature located on the northern end of Delly Green, a triangular village green. The memorial is constructed of concrete and takes the form of an open temple, square in plan. It stands on a two-stepped base, with four Tuscan columns that rise to a plain frieze and a heavily projecting cornice. Above the cornice is a set-back half spherical dome, surmounted by a plain Latin cross. Around the top of the memorial are the words “GLORY BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST AND ON EARTH PEACE”. There are no other inscriptions present.
