Description
This small barn and lofted stable, dating from the late 18th century, is located approximately 10 meters south of Lower Manor Farmhouse and includes an attached mounting block. The structure is built of coursed rubble limestone with dressed quoins. The small barn on the right features a stone slate roof and consists of three bays, with vent slits on either side of a wide central doorway. This doorway has dressed stone jambs and a 20th-century wooden lintel, directly opposite a larger doorway in the rear wall. The gable end facing the road has three square vent holes, a rectangular pitching opening with a wooden lintel, a vent slit in the gable, and an attached mounting block with three stone steps. Inside, the original roof timbers remain, featuring double purlins on tie-beam and collar trusses. The lofted stable on the left has been re-roofed with Welsh slates and includes an off-centre board door, flanked by stable windows, and a square loft door. All openings in the stable have wooden lintels. This building is included for its group value.
