Description

This building, located on the west side of the High Street in Burford and Upton, represents a burgage and coaching inn development, dating to the 16th century with remodelling in the early to mid-20th century. Constructed of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof, it features four chimneys, the leftmost having a stone base. The building is two storeys high with seven windows on the first floor, containing 20th-century, 2- and 3-light casements. The ground floor has four windows and four ledged doors. Number 1 displays apparent sprocket ends above the right-hand section. The building is thought to have originally served as kitchens or stables for the inn.
