Description
This building, known as Nos. 3 and 4 Steady's Lane, is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled thatch roof with end stacks made of stone finished in brick. The house has a three-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a four-window range. The windows are late 19th-century two-light casements with shutters, and there are similar dormer casements. To the right, there is a projection for a bread oven. The left gable end and the rear have 20th-century doors. Inside, the house has stop-chamfered beams and a boxed transverse beam on the left side, while the right side features a chamfered beam and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and a bread oven. There are winder stairs and a butt purlin roof.
