Description
The George and Dragon Public House is a building that originally served as a house, dating from the 17th century, with a later 17th-century extension on the left side. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled roof made of artificial stone slate. The left end has a stack made of rendered stone finished in brick, while there is a rear lateral stack to the right that is stone-coped and also finished in brick. The building has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with a five-window range. A 20th-century porch is located on the right side. The windows include 20th-century designs with timber lintels, a blocked central door, and three-light leaded casements in the outer bays of the first floor. There is a 20th-century extension to the right. Inside, there are stop-chamfered bressumers over open fireplaces on the left and right, as well as stop-chamfered beams. The first floor has not been inspected but is likely to have interesting features.
