Description

The statutory group in the centre of the rose garden at Blenheim is likely from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of marble and features a finely carved depiction of a merman supporting a nymph on his shoulders, with a child beside them. This group stands on a base located in the middle of a small pool within the rose garden. The base was formerly inscribed with the words "Bolneis exangue ab undis restitula." Blenheim Park is recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of "Parks and Gardens at Grade I."
