Description

This memorial urn, made of limestone, dates from the late 18th century and was created for George Simon Harcourt. It features a flaming urn with a scrolled band that sits atop a tall pedestal, which has a moulded plinth and entablature. The urn includes oval side panels that display a medallion and a leaning urn in memory of Viscountess Palmerston. The urn was relocated from the park at Nuneham Courtenay after the Harcourts returned to Harcourt House in 1948.
