Description
The Thomas Nicholas Perry Hacker Memorial is a chest tomb located 7 yards south of the West Tower of the Church of Holy Trinity in Ascott-under-Wychwood. It commemorates Thomas Nicholas Perry Hacker, who died in 1765. The tomb is made of ashlar and features a moulded plinth and cornice. Its sides have incised panels and end panels, with corner quarter balusters. The end panels are adorned with carved reliefs, including cartouches, arms on the west side, and initials on the east side. There are also two panels on the south side, likely dedicated to earlier members of the Hacker family, separated by a panel with carved drapery. This memorial is a notable example of a country churchyard monument.
