Description

A range of two barns dating from the early 19th century, situated approximately 30 metres to the southwest of Mill Farmhouse. The barns are constructed of coursed rubble limestone, with a stone slate roof over the yard and plain tiles to the rear pitch. Each barn has three bays and a central threshing floor, featuring a cart entry to the rear and a smaller door facing the yard. There are vent slits in the walls. Nesting boxes are located below the eaves in the left bays. The yard-facing side is largely hidden by a row of 20th-century concrete loose boxes, with a corrugated asbestos roof, along with further 20th-century corrugated iron lean-to extensions to the rear, which are not considered to have special architectural merit. The barns feature a double purlin roof with struts extending from tie beams to the principals, and small collars.
