Description

A former house, now a pair of cottages, dating to 1694, with extensions from the 18th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with a stone slate roof, and has rubble stone chimneys, with the right-hand chimney’s shaft rebuilt in brick during the 19th century. It is two storeys and attic in height, with a four-bay facade. The windows are 2-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, all renewed in the 20th century but retaining old wooden lintels. The right-hand bays have alterations to the ground floor, including a 20th-century 3-light metal casement and a blocked doorway. There are two small gabled roof dormers with 2-light wooden casements. A central 20th-century board door is covered by a gabled wooden hood. To the left is a lower bay from the 18th century with a single-storey gabled extension projecting to the front. A small 20th-century extension is set back to the right. The rear of the original block has an outshot with an off-centre gable. A stone dated "AD 1694" is located by the front door.
