Description
New Yatt Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with extensions added in the mid to late 18th century to the left and rear. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with a stone ridge stack. The building has a two-unit plan that has been extended to form an L-shape with a rear left wing. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range. A 20th-century porch has been added to the centre of the 17th-century range on the right, and there is a timber lintel over a 20th-century door to the left. The windows are late 19th or 20th-century casements with glazing bars, which are also topped with timber lintels. The two-storey rear wing is made from similar materials. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered beams and a chamfered bressumer above an open fireplace in the rear. The roof is noted for its collar-truss construction with butt purlins.
