Description

Harcourt House is a house dating from 1783, as indicated by the datestone H.H. 1783 above the door. The building is constructed of squared and coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and features a gabled stone slate roof with brick end stacks. It has a central-staircase plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical two-window range. There are keyed flat stone arches above a 20th-century door that has a bracketed flat hood and 20th-century casements. A fire insurance plaque is located above the door, and there are two gabled roof dormers. At the rear, there is a parallel range with a gabled artificial stone slate roof. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
