Description
Walk Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, likely extended in the early 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features Stonesfield-slate roofs along with stone and brick stacks. The building has a two-unit plan that includes a rear stair wing and subsidiary ranges, standing two storeys plus an attic, with an additional one-storey plus attic section.
The front of the main range is symmetrical with three windows and is taller than the other sections. It has an ashlar plinth and storey bands, with short six-pane sash windows on the first floor. The ground floor features larger windows with two-light casements flanking a central doorway, which is topped by a moulded stone canopy supported by shaped brackets. All windows are adorned with ashlar segmental arches. The steep-pitched roof has two gabled half dormers and gable stacks with stone plinths.
To the left, there is a lower two-window range that consists of two builds and includes more segmental-arched casements, two half dormers, and a secondary entrance, with a ridge stack that has a stone plinth. The main range features a tall gabled stair tower that extends to the rear from the left, with the angle infilled. The lower range has a contemporary rear wing. The interior has not been inspected. Walk Farm was part of Heythrop Civil Parish until 1985.
