MINSTER LOVELL UPPER CRESCENT SP3110 (South side) Charterville 20/121 No.11 (Cherry Tree Cottage) 07/07/77 (Formerly listed as No.11) - II

Chartist bungalow. Circa 1847. Roughcast on stone rubble; slate hipped roof; rendered end stacks. Single-storey, 3-bay range. Centre bay projects forward. C20 door to centre. Horned sashes to left and right of centre. 4-pane horned sashes to left and right. Cross-gable to centre bay. Interior not inspected. History: Charterville was the third of five estates established by the National Land Company. Company formed by Feargus O'Connor in 1845 to enable people from factory towns to live on small holdings and qualify for a vote. The Land Company ran into difficulties and was dissolved in July 1851.
