Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1683 with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble and has concrete tile roofs with coped verges. The original layout is L-shaped, with a 19th-century range added to the east of the north range, creating a T-shaped plan. The building has two storeys and a gable-lit attic.

On the north side, the north range features two horned four-paned sash windows with wood lintels on the first floor, and a contemporary tripartite sash window with a wood lintel to the lower right. There is a four-panel door beneath a 19th-century open gabled timber porch to the left. The right gable end has a 17th-century chamfered square window, while the left gable end features a blocked two-light mullion window with a dripstone in the attic. An integral end stack is located to the right, with the shaft rebuilt in red brick above the dripstones.

The lower 19th-century range to the left has double French casements at the front. The rear of the north range includes a former two-light mullion window with a dripstone on the ground floor to the left, which has had the mullion removed and a four-paned sash inserted. The east range has a two-light chamfered mullion window with a dripstone under a lean-to on the west side and a similar window on the first floor of the east side above a 16-paned glazing bar sash. There is an integral end stack with a shaft rebuilt in red brick and an infilled chamfered window in the attic. A datestone to the left of the stack is inscribed "IBI/1683," though the bottom of the "8" is missing.
