Description
This building, located at 8-10 Stanton Harcourt, is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with dressed quoins and features a half-hipped thatch roof, along with brick stacks at the left end and rear. The house has a three-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic, presenting a four-window range. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century plank door, flanked by an early 19th-century three-light casement and a 20th-century casement to the left. There are also early 19th-century two-light dormer casements and late 19th-century three-light dormer casements. At the rear, there is a left wing from the 18th century, which is rendered and features early 19th-century brick and weatherboarding, along with a brick ridge stack. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have winder stairs and stop-chamfered and boxed beams in the front range.
