Description

The bale tomb, located about 20 yards south of the south-west corner of the Church of Holy Trinity in Ascott-under-Wychwood, dates from around 1700. The inscription on the tomb is illegible. It is constructed from ashlar and features panelled sides with raised keys and imposts that support shallow basket arches. The east end of the tomb has a scutcheon. Additionally, there is a spiral moulded bale with an end cartouche on the west side and a shell niche on the east side.
