Description
The entrance gateway, built around 1843-1845, is likely designed by Sir Charles Barry. It features limestone ashlar piers with bracketed coping that flank central wrought-iron carriage gates. There are rusticated semi-circular arched pedestrian entries with wrought-iron gates on either side. Iron railings are set on a low wall that ramps up to a tall ashlar wall, which curves around to moulded end piers. This structure serves as the south entrance to Eynsham Hall and is included for its group value.
