Description

34 and 36 Akeman Street are two houses built in the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble and feature a gabled roof made of stone slate and 20th-century tiles, with brick stacks at the ridge and ends. The houses have a four-unit plan and stand two storeys tall, with a range of four windows. There are chamfered wood lintels above late 19th and 20th-century two- and three-light casements. To the right, there is a timber lintel over a 19th-century plank door. At the rear, a 19th-century outshut provides entry to a cottage on the right. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
