Description
Dyer's Hill Bridge is a bridge that likely dates from the 17th century and was widened in the 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features three segmental arches that spring from two starlings. Each arch includes a keystone and a linked string course, which is flanked by plain end pilasters. The upper walls are made of coursed squared rubble, enclosing a raised road level that was elevated in the 19th century to create part of the embankment leading to the railway bridge to the west. Evidence of the 18th-century road level has been found in service trenches.
