Description
The stables, located approximately 20 meters south of Lew House, were built in 1909, with the side wings possibly incorporating older structures. They are constructed from coursed rubble limestone, featuring semi-dressed quoins and a stone slate roof that is half-hipped over the central block. The building is arranged in a U-plan. The taller central block contains a lofted coach-house, which has sliding doors leading to a wide central entry, along with small casement windows and a boarded door on either side. Above the entry, there is a central boarded loft door with a gable above it, flanked by small three-light casements. At the center of the ridge, there is a square turret topped with an ogee roof supported by wooden posts. The low flanking stable ranges include the north-east range, which has five bays of stable doors and windows, and the south-west range, which features three smaller bays. The stables are included for their group value.
