Description
Underdown is a mid-18th century millhouse that has been converted into a house. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit outshut plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a two-window range. A 20th-century door and brick porch have been added to the front. The windows have chamfered timber lintels and include 20th-century three-light casements, along with two roof dormers that have late 19th-century two-light casements. Attached to the right side of the house are the remains of the former mill. Inside, the property features stop-chamfered beams, winder stairs, and a butt-purlin roof.
