Description

Southorn Shoes is a shop located in Chipping Norton, dating from the 17th century and altered over time. The building is constructed of rubble stone and limewashed stucco, topped with a gabled machine tiled roof that shares a stone stack with the adjacent No 1. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features a two-window range. The gabled dormer in the roof has a two-light casement, while the upper floor has two-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, there are 20th-century three-light shop windows on either side of a part-glazed 20th-century door. A projecting wooden shop sign is displayed across the ground floor, supported by carved consoles.
