Description
This building is a barn and cowhouse, originally from the early 19th century but remodeled from an earlier barn. It is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble with alternating angle quoins and features a stone slate roof. The long building appears to have been truncated and rebuilt to the left of the cart entrance, which is located on the left side of the structure. It has two levels.
On the right side of the catslide outshut, there are five early 19th-century round-headed doorways. The third doorway from the left has been infilled with a 20th-century centre-hung casement, while the fourth retains a fanlight. The fifth doorway from the left is also infilled with two 20th-century centre-hung casements, positioned between it and the fourth doorway, along with another casement to the right that features a round-headed relieving arch. There is a plank door with a cambered head directly below the eaves, situated between the two casements between the fourth and fifth doorways from the left. There is an opposing doorway to the cart entrance in the back wall.
Inside, a full-length loft has been inserted to the right of the cart entrance. The roof consists of a double-purlin collar and tie beam structure. The ground floor was converted into a milking parlour in the mid-20th century.
