Description
The outbuildings attached to Number 57 are part of a house built around 1730. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled concrete tile roof with end stacks that are stone finished in brick. The building is arranged in an L-shape with a rear left wing and has two storeys with a four-window range. There is a central blocked through-entry with a 20th-century door and overlight, set within a mid-19th century moulded wood architrave that has a bracketed flat hood. The windows have timber lintels and include six-pane sashes, with four early 18th-century sashes on the left that have thick glazing bars. The two-storey rear left wing is constructed from similar materials. Inside, there are early 19th-century stairs and chamfered beams in the rear wing. The room to the left features panelling from around 1730 and fluted pilasters flanking panelled cupboard doors. The roof includes a butt-purlin. There are also subsidiary features, including an outbuilding to the rear left made from similar materials, which has a plank door leading to a loft opening. Additionally, there is an early 18th-century one-storey outbuilding to the rear that has a wide blacked entry and a wood-mullioned and transomed cross window.
