Description

Wellshead Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the early 17th century, with a bay on the left side rebuilt in 1969. The construction is a mix of irregular timber framing with rendered infill on the right, and a false timber frame and render, probably over brick, on the left. The roof is of old plain tiles, with a brick ridge stack in the centre featuring a rebuilt flue. The cottage is single-storey and attic, with a two-window front. A 20th-century plank door is set within a 20th-century gabled porch at the centre. The windows are irregular and are 20th-century casements. Two raking dormers are visible on the roof. A one-bay addition is present on the right, also single-storey and attic. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included on the list for its group value.
