Description
Holywell Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, with a likely addition from the late 17th century on the left side. The building features roughcast, probably over timber-framing on the right, and roughcast, likely over brick, on the left. It has a 20th-century plain-tile roof with varying heights and pitches, and a half-hipped design on the right side. There is a brick ridge stack where the addition meets the original structure. The cottage is single-storey-and-attic with a two-bay range on the right and a two-storey, two-bay range on the left. A 20th-century sash door is located to the right of the center, and the windows display irregular fenestration with 19th-century casements. A cross-gable is positioned to the right of the center, featuring a three-light casement. The right return shows a truncated base-cruck truss. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to contain two cruck trusses.
