Description

The Old Town Hall is a late 17th century or early 18th century former market building located in Great Faringdon's Market Place. It features an open ground floor with a chamber above, which is now used as a library. The building has a hipped stone tiled roof topped with a plain iron weathercock and a deep bracketed eaves cornice. The first floor is roughcast and includes two glazing bar sash windows at each end and one on the south side. The ground floor is supported by stone Tuscan columns arranged in a 4 by 3 configuration, and the east side has piers with pilaster responds at the corners.
