Description

The Byre is a barn located approximately 30 meters northwest of Westfield House, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It features weatherboarding over a timber frame, set on a plinth of limestone rubble and late 19th-century brick. The right end wall is made of limestone rubble up to the eaves, and it has a half-hipped roof covered with old tiles. The barn has a three-bay plan with a central threshing floor and includes 20th-century plank doors. Inside, there is a collar-truss roof supported by braced posts and butt purlins. The building is included for its group value.
