Description
The Old House is a building with origins dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, with early 19th century additions to the west. It features a gable facing the road and stands two storeys tall. The left section is constructed of rubble with a brick plinth and a brick dentil cornice, topped with a tile roof. There are three windows set within brick rusticated architraves that have apron cills and segmental arches, fitted with modern leaded casements. To the right, there is a small flat-roofed canted bay with 19th century glazing. A brick band runs between the storeys. The taller two-storey section to the right is made of brick and also has a tile roof. It contains one window with a flat arch, featuring a double hung sash with glazing bars. The older part of the house has been modified in the early 19th century, showcasing flat arched fenestration in brick architraves, again with double hung sashes that include glazing bars. There have been further additions to the north.
