Description
Mount Pleasant Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1800. It is constructed of squared and coursed limestone with a mid-19th century Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. The house is arranged in an L-shape. The front elevation has two storeys and a three-window range. A flat hood with carved brackets shelters the central four-panelled door, which has glazed panels. The windows are six-pane sashes with flat stone arches. The eaves boldly overhang, a feature of the mid-19th century re-roofing. The roof is gabled, with gable end stacks. Contemporary two-storey wings extend to the rear left, and a narrow wing runs parallel to the main range against the rear right wall, all built in matching style and materials. A late 18th century two-light casement window is found in the rear gable wall. A late 20th century lean-to extension has been added to the rear right. The interior of the main range is divided into two units, with a central straight-flight staircase and landing dating from around 1780. Original panelled shutters and six-panelled doors, set in moulded architraves with panelled reveals, are also present.
